Team Bath Racing is pleased to announce that the 2011 chassis build was completed on schedule (1st October 2010) and before the start of term, and over 3 months in advance of any previous Formula Student Team from the University of Bath. The chassis is currently in the build shop awaiting painting and the application of a structural honeycomb skin designed to increase stiffness by 40%. The final weight of the chassis, excluding the back-plate, is 21.3kg compared to a target weight of 22kg, representing a 5kg reduction in weight from the previous year’s team, achieved through a significantly more compact design. The target weight including paint, skins and brackets is 28kg.
