Based at the Pangbourne Technology Centre for lubricants BP provides financial support to the team, and all of our lubricant requirements. Solvay produce are supporting the team with carbon fibre pre-preg for the carbon monocoque chassis and moulds. Goldfren will be providing Team Bath Racing with custom manufactured brake discs and brake pads for 2017. Based in the Czech Republic, Goldfren manufactures and supplies braking components and systems for automotive and motorcycle applications.
Through partnership with AH Fabrications, TBR is able to produce top quality fabricated parts specially designed for the car every year. Team Bath Racing use their facilities and expertise to learn about making reliable aluminium welded parts. AH Fabrication specialise in aluminium fabricated components, such as fuel tanks, radiators and oil tanks.
At the cutting edge of vehicle and engine test, Sierra CP Engineering offer a wide variety of integrated systems for comprehensive automotive testing. Sierra have provided the team with technical support and system components to improve Team Bath Racing’s engine test facility.
Cranfield Impact Centre has partnered with Team Bath Racing this year to develop our impact attenuator. FIA approved and a world leading site for assessing vehicle safety and crashworthiness, their high-tech facilities has allowed the team to take a major step forwards in the creation of the team’s first ever composite crash structure.
Zircotec has developed a range of ultra high-performance plasma spray coatings to protect components from the effect of heat, corrosion and wear. Zircotec have assisted Team Bath Racing in providing their coatings for our exhaust system and carbon fibre wheels.
Emkay Plastics are the leading suppliers and specialists for the distribution of Rohacell in the UK. They will be providing the team with their high quality Rohacell for use within our carbon fibre components.
The TBR17 team will be making use of the Hyperworks software, supplied by Altair. This is the most comprehensive open architecture CAE simulation software in the industry, and is a welcome addition to the team when designing components and running simulations.
More new software for the team in 2017 has been supplied by IPG Automotive, in the form of their Kinematics programme. The software is used for wheel travel, steering kinematics and vehicle dynamics analysis.
Loctite are a supplier of industrial adhesives and sealants and Team Bath Racing are pleased to announce their support. Their high quality products will be used in many areas of the car build, including the manufacture of our carbon fibre monocoque.
Team Bath Racing are continuing to use TeXtreme this year, with their carbon fibre UD Tape being utilised in the manufacture of the car’s aerodynamics package. The TeXtreme material provides superior characteristics in terms of weight and stiffness, and is heavily used in Formula 1, Nascar and professional sports equipment.
Calspan, a tyre research facility in association with the FSAE TTC, provide all Formula Student teams with testing data on a range of FSAE suitable tyres. Team Bath Racing has been making use of this data for a number of years, both in the Class 2 design of the car, and during the Class 1 design and manufacture.
AVL is an Austrian based automotive consultancy company who have provided Team Bath Racing with a licence for their combustion analysis software, Concerto. This should help the powertrain team be more efficient at analysing and understanding combustion data.
